Left-wing Cameroonian opposition figure dies in detention

Opposition politician Anicet Ekane, arrested amid protests at how Cameroon's presidential election was conducted, has died in detention at the age of 74. Official reports said that he had died following an illness, but his family said he had not received appropriate care.
