Bangladesh president steps down early due to ill health

Bangladesh President Shahabuddin has resigned citing ill-health. But local media reports say he came under pressure after contacting ousted premier Sheikh Hasina. Reports say Hasina will return from exile in December, despite a death sentence for suppressing protests in 2024.
