Malaysia drops defamation case against Australian writer

An Australian writer complains about freedom of expression in Malaysia and is sued by the Malaysian authorities – not in Malaysia, however, but at his place of residence in Thailand. The case has alarmed advocates of freedom of expression. But now it has been settled.
