Russia blocks WhatsApp, says it failed to abide by law

Russia has blocked Meta's Whatsapp and is urging users to switch to Russian alternative Max, which does not use encryption. Kremlin spokesman Peskov said Whatsapp was not complying with the law. Meta said it was doing all it could to keep users connected.
