SPD believes probe into Berlin mayoral candidate linked to donation

A probe into the SPD candidate for mayor of Berlin could not have come at a worse time for the party. The city-state heads into an election on September 20 with the SPD polling in third place level with the Greens behind Chancellor Merz's CDU and the anti-immigrant AfD.
