Turkish paradox: Improved public goods amid democratic decline

Turkey has seen a "dramatic democratic reversal" between 2000 and 2023, the new Berggruen Governance Index finds. It joins a list of countries which have become autocracies. It's a case of "sustained economic investment alongside institutional decay".
