US, Russia accuse UN's Baerbock of overreach in secretary general vote

The United States and Russia have slapped down UN General Assembly head Baerbock for encroaching on Security Council privileges in selecting a new secretary general. Baerbock wants greater transparency. The move recalls the days when the US and USSR called the shots at the UN.
