Syrian court sentences al-Assad cousin to death for war crimes

A cousin of deposed Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has been sentenced to death in absentia in Damascus for war crimes but observers say the sentence is unlikely to be carried out since like the former leader he has fled the country.
