UN warns civil liberties under threat due to war in Middle East

The Iran war had hit civil liberties in Middle Eastern countries on all sides of the conflict, the top UN rights official said in Geneva. Volker Türk pointed to arrests in Iran and of Palestinians in Israel. He noted summary trials in the UAE and arrests in Qatar and Bahrain.
